(01-12-2023) At an emotional event attended by prominent authorities and leaders in the mining sector, the First Huancavelica 2023 Regional Mining Fair, under the slogan ‘Wanka Willka Min,’ was successfully inaugurated at the IPD Stadium in the Santa Ana district of Huancavelica.
The event featured the distinguished presence of key authorities, including the Regional Governor, Dr. Leoncio Huayllani Taype, Eng. Jorge Luis de la Cruz Hidalgo, Director of the Regional Directorate of Energy and Mines (DREM), and Congressman Alfredo Pariona Sinche. They emphasized the importance of this initiative in promoting the sustainable development of the region.
The main objective of the fair is to raise awareness about the global competitiveness of mining activity in Huancavelica and leverage the natural advantages of the land to transform minerals into monetary wealth, thus contributing to the economic progress of the region.
Representatives from local governments, civil society, academia, public institutions, and suppliers of machinery, tools, and personal protective equipment, among others, were present. Mining companies such as:
