(27-05-2024) Compañía de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. (NYSE: BVN; BVL: BUE.LM), Lima, leading local precious metals producer, announced the temporary voluntary suspension of mineral processing at the El Brocal plant facilities in order to ensure the safety of its employees and infrastructure.
This follows a small group from the Huaraucaca Community, which resides adjacent to the El Brocal processing plant, entering the property without El Brocal’s authorization.
Buenaventura maintains an open and respectful dialogue with all communities surrounding its operations, and therefore trusts that conversations with the Huaraucaca community will lead to a peaceful solution and a mutually acceptable resolution.
Underground mining works continue uninterrupted normally, with mined ore stockpiled for later processing – as it has been allocated and authorized – to be processed once the concentrator plant operation resumes.
