Luis Marchese, President of the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE), said that its guild will support the new ministerial board led by Cesar Villanueva, because there is trust in that he will boost mining and energy investments.
“We think that this year’s investment will be greater than 2017. We expect that they reach US$6 or US$7 billion. We will probably not see the higher dynamism this year, but we should see a bit more of it next year”, said Marchese.
He said that the sector’s companies are starting to review the projects due to the better prices of metals. “This year some projects will start, but we are going to have greater investments in 2019 and 2020”, he said.
