The labor creditors of the mining-metallurgy company Doe Run Peru entered into INDECOPI with a request to adjudicate Cobriza mine (Huancavelica), after three failed auction rounds organized by the bankruptcy administrator, Dirige.

Luis Castillo, representative of the workers, explained that the request will be evaluated by Doe Run Peru’s creditors board on the 26th of April and 2nd of May.

He said that for the workers to be awarded Cobriza, they must disburse US$70.6 million that should be paid with the current and labor debt that Doe Run has with them and amounts to US$113 million. They must also nd a partner to operate and fund the re launching of the mining unit.
